This research proposal concerns mathematical physics and in particular the study of mathematical models for cosmology and gravitation.

It is composed of three parts. The first part consists in the analysis of the properties of modified models of gravitation and the study of the growth of cosmological perturbations for such class of models. The second part is devoted to the study of Bose-Einstein condensates as dark matter. I plan to study cosmological perturbations also for such class of models. Finally, the third part of my proposal is the study of the properties of relativistic Bose-Einstein condensates, and in particular of Bose-Einstein condensates with a deformed energy-momentum relation.

A strong effort is also made in comparing theoretical models with experimental data. This implies the use of numerical codes to resolve the dynamical equations that governs the evolution of the system and then to compare the model with data.

This results in an highly interdisciplinary research plan involving the use of standard mathematical physics methods, of
numerical methods for the solution of differential equations and of statistical data analysis. A collaboration with several mathematicians and physicists of different universities and research centers is also planned, all of which will hopefully result in creating a rich research environment in frontiers of mathematics and physics.
